A Long Yet Short Weekend...

Spent the long weekend with Ben. =D
At Mount Faber
Saturday, we went to explore Mount Faber and watched G.I.Joe. The climb up to the Mount Faber was not too difficult but was quite tiring to me after not exercising for so long. The view up there was not very spectacular, but was quite beautiful. Sentosa looked small up there. After that, we went to VivoCity and had Merlionster at Ben & Jerry's. Guess the price... $32.90!!! Damn ex la. And seriously, other than the various chunks found in the ice cream, the ice cream itself was not very splendid. The taste and texture of Gelare and Swensens ice cream are much better. I guess that will the the first and last time patronising Ben & Jerry's together. Anyway, after that, Ben went home to 'show face' for awhile then we meet for G.I.Joe at Yishun GV. I would say that the show is worth watching for the fighting scenes and the special effects, I like it. Thought I would fall asleep during the movie as I was really tired after so much walking that day, but I was wide awake throughout the show. That proves that the movie was quite engaging.

Sunday was National Day. We were supposed to join in the service for the National Anthem and Pledge but... We were late! Late by more than half an hour, but luckily we weren't the only ones. But we ended up sitting in front. I don't like sitting in front cos I'm afraid to be noticed. Cos I think I'm the only one who don't join in the singing, raise my hands for prayers and say 'Amen' when we're prompted to. All in all, I'm the only non-Christian there. That day, the pastor talked about Overcomers. As usual, I didn't really understand what she was preaching. But I guess it's something to do with seeking peace after failures or setbacks so as to pick oneself up again... Something like that ba. Anyway, hope this week's service I won't be going alone. After service, we shopped at Yishun's NTUC for some tidbits for the movie then went for lunch at Northpoint's Food Mall. Went back home to rest awhile before the movie, Where Got Ghost. But we were extremely late, missed one third of the movie, didn't catch the first story. The movie wasn't scary at all to me. It's very comical though. Very Jack Neo style. Lots of dialects and the way they speak and act just made me laugh throughout the movie. It's worth watching for those who likes comedy but not for those who expects the movie to be scary. We wanted to go to Safra's gym after that but it was closed. Didn't know it closes so early. Ben was very disappointed. We went back to my house and Ben cooked potatoes for me again. I love the potatoes he makes even though it's damn fattening. Haha! =D While eating, we watched the Singapore Idol audition. We were wondering why those people who sings so badly and yet so proud of themselves dare to participate, we felt embarrassed for them. But there were some who could sing quite well. I won't be following the show throughout though, not an Idol fan.

Woke up at 11.30am on Monday. Was very tired after spending two long days out. But I really enjoyed myself very much and feel that we a fruitful time for the two days, although we didn't seem to have done a lot of things. Looking forward to spending more quality time together. Sent Ben to Boon Lay for his book in. Hope he would be able to have a longer book out time this weekend. =D

Daily Bread

Another posts on Daily Bread which I like:

"Friends listen to our heartaches without blaming us for having problems.
They defend us when we’re under attack.
They are happy when we succeed and sad when we fail.
They give us wise counsel to keep us from making foolish choices.
They even risk making us angry for the sake of making us right.
My friends have done all of this and more for me.
...
True friends are like diamonds—precious and rare."

Blood Donation! =D

Yesterday was Nee Soon South CC's Annual Blood Donation Drive. Went with Ming Yun, who is always as enthu as me when it comes to donating blood. Haha! =D As I was at service in the morning so arranged to meet her at around 11.30am. Was quite shocked that there was so many people. Not because majority of them were Indians (cos I kind of expected it as I went for last year's one too. It was co-organised by Indian radio station Oli 96.8FM), there was really lots of people. So took up quite a long time to complete all the procedures. Finally it was our turn. =D
One of the shots taken before our turn
I'm pumping out my blood. Haha! =D
(MY's bloody photo is on her blog)

Quite like MY's yellow smiley bandage =D
The nurse asked me if I wanted the Pink or Green bandage,
but I requested for my favourite colour, Purple. =DUnwrapped the bandage. My small needle wound revealed.
Very puny, right? =D
Actually when it was nearing my turn to donate blood, I was quite scared. I was afraid that the nurse wasn't skilled enough to inject the needle into my arm painlessly. While waiting for our turn, we were observing how the nurses were serving the other donors and thought some weren't very caring. Apparently, we misjudged them. The large number of people awaiting to donate blood kept the nurses very busy, but they still try their best to be patient towards everyone. And the nurses who attended to me injected and ejected the needle on my arm without me feeling any pain. Believed that the nurses were facing a lot of pressure from the numerous donors waiting for their turn. Salute the nurses there for being able to maintain their calmness.

After that, we had some refreshment. The refreshment was to my liking. Haha! =D They had packet milo and apple juice, oreo and the DEWBERRY biscuits!!! Just simply love the DEWBERRY biscuits, yum yum! =D And we got a goodie bag, in which there's a pen, Indian calendar and a car sticker. (Only the goodie bag itself and the pen are useful. Hehe. =D)

Thanks Ming for accompanying me to the Blood Donation. Hope you had fun in one way or another. *Wink* =D
