Recap...

Hihi! I’m back to blog! =D Lazy to blog for the past few weeks. This is going to be an extremely long post cos I’ll be blogging about my happenings for the past few weeks. Are you prepared? If you are then take a deep breath… Here it goes:

14th February 2009

Valentine’s Day! =D

Ben came to my house and we exchanged our gifts with each other. I gave him a self-made card. Didn’t really plan what to give him. Made the card only the night before but I’m very satisfied with it. =D Ben gave me his home-made cookies and a mini bunch of hand-made flowers. Yummy cookies and pretty flowers. He knows that I don’t like to receive real flowers cos they will wither so he look up Youtube to learn how to make the flowers. Can really see how much efforts he had put in to make them. Really very touched. Feel so blessed to have him. =D

After that went to the NTU talk at Suntec Convention Centre. Went for an engineering talk when we reached there. Was very boring so we decided to leave the room before the talk ends. Visited the booths outside and collected some pamphlets of the different courses. Then we walked around Suntec City for a while and head back home. =D

A simple way of celebrating Valentine’s Day. Not exciting but very sweet and close to the heart, that is always what I want. =D

Sugei Buloh =D

Hui Ping and Wei Jie signed up for a trip to Sungei Buloh but as WJ had to work on that day, I became his substitute. Anyway, I wanted to go there too but it’s too inaccessible le so I didn’t mind accompanying HP there. But it’s not advisable to go with a tour group cos they got time restriction. We ended up taking the shorter route around there. The guide shared much of his knowledge about the plants, birds and other creatures we could see there. But sad to say, there were no birds cos they would only fly there in the late afternoon so we ended up looking at the plants and monitor lizards. If possible, would go and explore Sungei Buloh again in the late afternoon to look out for the special birds there. =D

Visited ET =D

Went back to YJC with Hui Yin that day to visit Mrs Teo. Before heading there, we went to Sembawang to buy a slice of Coffee Bean’s cheesecake for ET and some tidbits for her new form class. ET is currently taking a J2 class cos of the lack of experience teachers for the year 2s. Her present class is definitely extremely much better than us, 201’08. Can see that the majority are hardworking students. When we went there, they were halfway true the lessons so HY and I sat at the back of the class to discuss about our M’sia trip. When the lesson ended, ET told them to do some compre questions. But after much bargaining by her students and from what HY and I told her, ET gave in to them and allowed them to have more time to study for their Chem SPA. Then, we saw many “Jonathans” emerged. Many of them started taking pictures of what is written on the board cos they were allowed to submit their AQ next week. Jonathan, you got descendents le leh. Haha! =D Ya, and one girl in the class caught our attention. She’s so like Jiemin!!! Right, Hui Yin? When ET announce that they could submit the AQ next week she suddenly asked ET, “So can submit everything next week arh?”, in almost the same way JM would ask. Damn funny! HY and I just can’t stop laughing.

After visiting ET, we went to Expo. Wanted to go to the NATAS Fair but the queue was so damn long, so disappointing. So we decided to go orchard to walk walk. We went to Kinokonya to look for M’sia map but we don’t understand the map. Haha! =D HY has the idea of touring Singapore, to go to places in Singapore which she hasn’t been before. So we picked up a Singapore guide book and started flipping through. Saw quite a number of interesting places like, the adventure forest which Huiping wants to go, and gay pubs such as Vincent’s and Xpose which we recommended to Simon and Jonathan. =D So we spend more than 1hour in there browsing through the guide books. After that went to Xin Wang at Cineleisure, talk talk then home sweet home. =D

Club-PowerHouse

Always wanted to go to a club and finally, Ben gave the green light. Yeah! I can go clubbing, wanted to drag him along too but didn’t force him to in the end. So Hui Yin, Jonathan, Simon and I went to PowerHouse after much discussion. We were all noobs. When we reached St James Power Station, we didn’t know how to get to PowerHouse. We girls are only the brave one to go and ask one of the bouncers of another club for directions la. So noobly, we headed to PH and found out that we were very early. So we waited outside PH for quite some time. When it’s time to go in, I took the lead again la. Wa liao, I kept consoling myself not to be pai seh la. But I was so pai seh la. Never mind, we managed to enter the club. Have to admit, we were extremely noob, we didn’t know where to sit. Haha! =D When we settle down, it’s time for us to order some drinks. The guys had 4 free drinks in total cos they paid for the admission fee. Jonathan was the first to order his drink. The bartender told him he could use the free drinks for beer, vodka and whisky only. So after considering for a while, he wanted to order whisky. This was roughly what happened:

(Noisy background.)
Jonathan: “May I have a whisky, please.”
Bartender: “What whisky?”
(Jon thought he couldn’t hear what he ordered so he repeated)
Jonathan: “Whisky”
Bartender: “Whisky coke, sprite…?”
(Again, he thought it’s too noisy so he repeated)
Jonathan: “Whisky”
Bartender: “Whisky coke, sprite…?”
(Finally, he got it)
Jonathan: “Err… Coke.”

Hahaha! So funny. So nooby. But he became smarted when he asked for a Vodka with lime. After he asked for his whisky, HY and I wanted to order a cocktail, so I spotted this female bartender who looks rather friendly so we waited for her to come nearer to us so that we can order from her. So I asked her to recommend some cocktails to us. She recommended China Blue and another ice blended drink and explained the type of wine and fruits that goes into the drink. But the music was too loud so didn’t manage to catch what she said but I ordered China Blue. I think it’s lychee mixed with Vodka or some other alcohol. Very nice. Good recommendation. =D When she served the drink, she told us that there’s a Happy Hour promotion, so we will get a 50% discount if we order a second cocktail so HY order the ice blended drink. So in the end we ordered, whisky coke, whisky sprite, vodka lime, Tiger beer, China Blue and a Peach ice blend. For the cocktails, we paid $13.90 after GST. So ex, 1 cocktail cost 13 bucks. But I’ve fallen in love with China Blue. Haha! =D Ya, something we notice there, people who go there seems to love Tiger beer, almost all the tables have a huge jug of Tiger Beer. Anyway, we were extremely bored there actually cos we arrived too early, so we waited for the dance crowd to come in. But it’s not very happening there, everyone was just there to look and chat, very few were dancing. Regretted not following Jihui to Phuture. We missed the last train and wanted to take the last bus to AMK then cab home. But fortunately, the Night Owl came before the bus to AMK, but the Night Owl buses were not stated at the bust stop. So heng.

1st March 2009

From East Coast Park to Changi Beach =D

Went to East Coast Park to cycle with Huiping, Yanjie, Eng Kiat, Chun Siang, Lionel and Kia Yong. Glad to see that the guys have not changed much, I’m referring to the size. I think I’m the only one who has grown fatter. Haha! =D Ky told Lionel the wrong tie to meet at the interchange so we waited for him for an hour. When we reached ECP, ky and yj was already there awaiting for our arrival long long ago. So we lunched at Mac and went to rent our bicycles. Our destination was Changi Beach so we rented our bikes for 4 hours. When we were about to reach the Park Connector to Changi Beach, it started to rain. We rested in a shelter for a while and continued our journey. As we were halfway through, the rain got bigger but we continued to cycle. We were all drenched. When we were nearing Changi Beach, the rain stopped. We rested at the end of the Changi Beach. The guys were talking among themselves so we girls chatted among ourselves too lor. After quite some time, we headed back to ECP and had our dinner before returning our bikes. Throughout the whole journey, we were drenched and dried again and again. Hadn’t cycled that long for a very long time le so it’s quite exciting to me. =D

3rd March 2009

Finally got the chance to go to Chek Jawa!!!

When we reach Pulau Ubin, it was raining. So disappointing. We waited for the rain to stop and started our tour around Pulau Ubin. We rented the $6 suspension bike. To me, it felt like sitting on a Mercedes car when I rode it at first. It was so smooth and stable, didn’t have to worry about ending up like the Yes93.3 DJ. Haha! =D Ben’s friend, Yan Hao, was the guide of the day. He’s so familiar with Ubin that he could memorise all the names of the beaches and shelters. So our first destination was, of course, CHEK JAWA. Along the way, it rained again, but we continued to cycle. The route was very rugged and there were some up slopes and exciting down slopes. Didn’t cycle there before so was a new experience for me. Finally, we reached Chek Jawa! But due to the rain, the tide was not low enough, so didn’t manage to see many sea creatures. We saw some holes created by the Mud Lobster along the way and a cluster of small crabs and some Mud Skippers at the shore. It’s really an eye-opener for me. =D Will head back there, some time soon, to look out for more creatures when the tide is low.

After that, Yan Hao brought us to the beaches and we hiked up a hill that not many people know of. Although the way up the hill was not very comfortable due to the red ants at certain part of the route, the reward that you would get at the top of the hill will definitely make you want to climb up the hill again whenever you go to Pulau Ubin. The reward is none other than the scenery that you will see at the top of the hill. I think that is the best scenery you get to see in Singapore. Besides the greenery, you will be able to see the quarry. It was really scary when I tried to stand near the edge of the hill, felt that I might fall off. But the calm blue water in the quarry makes me feel so peaceful and stress-free for a moment.

Before heading back, we cycled for a while and Yan Hao introduced us to the Secret Garden and led us to see a big oven. The oven was left behind by a Bakery Factory very long time ago. Saw it before but it was camouflaged by a huge tree so I thought it was a tree hole. Haha! =D

Cab back to Northpoint to have dinner then went home to rest.

The trip was really a fruitful one. Didn’t know that Pulau Ubin is actually such an interesting place. Though our bags got dirtied, we got ourselves drenched and smelly, I believe that this trip had made HY and I fall deeply in love with Pulau Ubin. All thanks to Ben and Yan Hao! =D

6th March 2009

Birthday “SURPRISE” =D

Hui Yin and Jonathan wanted to surprise me at 12 midnight. Jon wanted to ask Ben to liaise with them but he chose the wrong person. I wonder if he really understands guys or not. Ben is my boyfriend, of course he would not want to lose to anyone in giving me the biggest surprise. So Jon, you got no one else to blame unless you’re not a man, but I doubt so. So in the end, Ben and I planned a plot to shock them instead. At 11.55pm, Ben called me and I pretended to be watching a movie and will only be home in 45mins time. After I hang up, I prepared the whipped cream and rush down to where they were. HY saw me first so I attacked Jon with the whipped cream. He took quite some time to realize that I’d applied some “facial cream” on his face. Haha! =D I think HY and Jon were quite taken aback when they saw me appear. So sad. Jon’s planned failed. Then I started teasing and suaning him. Haha! =D We waited for Chun Siang and Lionel to come and celebrated my 19th birthday. A small simple cake, with some friends who remembered my birthday. Thanks for the “surprise” and the gifts! =D

Shots taken:

Received birthday greetings from some friends and cousins. This year’s birthday makes me feel that I’m not being forgotten, that there are so many good friends out there who want to give me their best wishes. I don’t know how to express what I’m feeling inside in words. I only can say that I’m touched and would do my best to make the wishes you all have for me and my own wishes come true. They may not come true immediately, but in time to come, it will.

The imminent Nightmare finally arrived…

It was also the day when our results are out. I think many people have very high hopes in me cos many think that I’m a hardworking person. But sad to say, I’ve made them disappointed. These are the astonishing grades: H1GP-D, H1Econs-C, H2Math-C, H2Phy-C and H2Chem-D. I know nobody will expect me to get such results. I cried cos I’m ashamed, not because of my results but, because I gave up while encouraging others not to. I’m sorry if I’d made some of you have false hope in me when I encouraged you all. It was the only thing that I could do at that time to prevent myself from implicating anyone of you into the state I was at that time. 1 is more than enough already. For now, no matter how much I think back, it’s of no use, it’ll just make me miserable and make people who cares for me feel sad. I can only look forward and work towards what I want to achieve and always keep my goal in mind. I have to keep trying cos one will only fail if he stops trying. So now, I will look for a full time job (hopefully the UOB customer service position is still available) and study by myself. So have to really plan my time well. Have to find out how I should go about retaking. Jiemin says have to retake 3 H2s and 1 H1 and closing date is 21st March, have to ask ET and other teachers during CVD. Will definitely work hard this time. It’s a new beginning for me, will cherish this chance. =D Anyway, glad to see that many of my friends got quite good grades. Hope that all of you are able to make it into the course of your choice! Though we may not be on the same path, let’s work hard together! I will catch up with your steps some day! =D

Birthday again and BBQ! =D

Celebrated my birthday, again, with my family. None of them remembered my birthday as usual. I told my mama in the evening to remind her to give me hongbao. Haha! =D So Ben brought the cake which he had made. Looks presentable, not as shitty as what he said. Taste nice but too sweet. Got my favourite almond inside! =D After that, for the second time, we went to camp at the reservoir. I think we’re the only ones who would camp there. Haha! =D Set up the tent and start the fire by myself with Ben’s help. It was as successful as the previous one. Sense of achievement. =D Barbecued the pratas and my mushrooms. Yummy yummy! =D Then felt tired and I went to sleep for a while. Can’t stay throughout the night, the tent was just so tempting, can’t resist the temptation to sleep in there. Hehe. =D Woke up, bbq for a while, then clear up our stuff in the morning and went home to sleep. =D

The fire started by myself =D

8th March 2009

Kickboxing =D

Missed the first lesson last week cos had promised Huiping to go cycle with them. Huiyin was telling me how exciting was the first lesson so had been looking forward to the second lesson. But the instructor for this week lesson was different. HY says that the actual instructor was not funny and all like the relief instructor. The movement the relief instructor taught was very like the movements in Muay Thai. After half an hour, I was already perspiring like mad and can feel that my limbs were giving in. But I managed to pull through the one hour lesson. The kicking and punching were fun. The cooling down exercises were damn challenging, extremely good for training abs. Definitely looking forward to the next session of kickboxing lesson! =D
