I'm so stressed!!!

Council Meeting is coming. On 30th May. Arghh!!! Damn stressed up. So many things to tabulate. I'm damn underpaid!!! Haven't started my revision! I don't want to let history repeat itself. Extremely stressed up now not just because of the tons of yet to be completed work, but about the bank job which I was recently offered. UOB called on Mon to say that I'm selected for the position of PT Customer Service. Was damn delighted then, but as I calmed down, I began to feel worried. I've put in all my time and efforts to adapt to the working environment at Castle Green and have finally got used to my job. I would have to start afresh if I go to UOB. Even though it's stressful working in Castle Green, I quite like the small and cosy office we have. My manager may be irritating most of the time, but my other 2 colleagues are fine. I've fixed an appointment with UOB this Friday. I already have my mind set on UOB cos it's my 'dream' to work in a bank and they're offering me $8/hr and $10/hr upon confirmation. However, I would have to look through the contract first before making my final decision. My worry now is that if I really plan to leave Castle Green for UOB, it will leave a bad impression to the residents in Castle Green. If possible, I'd request UOB to postpone my date of appointment from 15June till 30June instead.

I'm really lucky to have been offered 3 contracts in these few months when the economy isn't performing so well. Yet, I'm feeling so stressed and was in a dilemma when I was offered a better paying job. Perhaps, I'm too emotional. Despite having to handle those unreasonable residents and not being paid for OT, I'm still thinking of staying. Besides the fact that I 'asked' for my current job, the handful of compliments which I've received from some residents are the reasons for me to be holding back my decision. But, like what others had told me, I'd go for UOB if the contract is reasonable as I'd have more time to study.

Anyway, work aside, our friendship had begun to turn rocky after the incident. Too stubborn, too blinded, too much misunderstandings, too little faith, but I hope our friendship will be strong enough to overcome all these. Don't give up this friendship so easily, let us have some time to calm down to sort out our thoughts. Everybody is right and wrong in the way we have reacted to the incident. Let's give each other some time. Don't let go so easily, k? =D

Our 1st Anniversary is coming soon. Ben has been smsing me everyday, slowly listing out the significant things I've done for him. Didn't expect him to be so sweet and romantic, right? Haha! =D I'm the boring one in this relationship. Really fortunate to have found him as my partner. He's just too loving and caring that sometimes it feels like I'm living in a fairytale. Yes, he's just too good to be true. Even though my life have been in quite a state of confusion, I'm lucky to have him to support me. <3

Also, not forgetting my close friends. The goal you all have in life have always been my source of motivation to carry on working towards my goal despite setbacks. Jia you, everyone and continue to strive for the best! =D

Complaints, complaintsss and more complaintssss... :@

Saturday was the first day of official work. It was Saturday so there were damn lot of residents coming in to our Management Office. I was fine with doing the bookings until one came in to book a function room. Damn that Ray, said until so happily and logically that I need not issue them receipt. Was doubting him for the whole day until the end of the day then I remembered vividly that I need to issue the receipt!!! Screwed up! :@ Wasn't quite use to the management's procedure. Was stunned when a resident came in to apply for an authorisation letter for temporary carparking. Ray was attending a meeting with the council so being the front desk personnel, I had to attend to it though Ray was the one in charge of that. But thank goodness he wasn't there, if not, the residents will definitely create a din cos he won't simply just grant them the letter. I'm just a small AA there, so I just looked for the softcopy of the letter from his computer, and approved all the letters. Haha! =D Don't care, if I get into any trouble I can just simply quit. I say until so carefreely cos a resident actually offered an AA position at Ubi area, but the pay damn high, $1.8k onwards. So tempting. $$$ But can't just leave the company like that and let poor Siti suffer alone. =D
Actually the most angry part wasn't cos by Ray, but it was the residents there. They think that they have the right to tell off any staff in the management cos they pay the maintenance fund. Only one praised Siti and I for our efficiency. We were there officially working for only the first day of course we need some time to follow up with matters left by the previous management. If you all don't even have the basic trust for the management then there's no point having a managing agent there. If you all think that we are not efficient, then try to join the management. We can't attend to every of your single needs at one shot. Please stop being so sucked up just because you all are rich enough to pay the management fund. By the way, less than half of the funds contributes to our salaries, mostly are funds for your condo. Lastly, we are human beings just like you all, we have dignity, we are not your slaves, so please show some respect to us.
Only the first day yet I already feel like resigning. This is the only job which makes me feel this way. If not for Siti, who prove to be up for the job, I'd have resigned and told off those disrespectful residents. The first day of work really made me feel like cursing and swearing, in other words, using vulgarities, and resorting to violence. But of course, I wouldn't cos I'm a cultured person. Hehe. =D Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and that this blog will not become one which only tells about my unhappiness at work. =D

Ben's Birthday! =D

Thursday was Ben's birthday. He got to book out that day cos next day was Labour Day. =D Wanted to fetch him but got caught up at work. Thursday was also the last day for my company to take over the previous company. Our manager, Ray, practically did nothing for the first half of the day, except just walking around the condo looking for mosquito breeding spots. Yes, just MOSQUITO BREEDING SPOTS!!! Obviously, he didn't know what's first thing first. By the way, he had not even took over whatever he needed to when Siti and I were almost done with our take over. When he was browsing through the handing/taking over lists, he wanted to look through every single details. Come on, Siti and I had already detailedly checked the lists. If he wanted to check everything again, we might as well leave everything to him. Waste time sia. Luckily the other manager finally convinced him that he need not be so thorough in the checking cos we had already done the checking. Everybody were cursing and swearing at him. When he had finished the checking, it was already 7PM+++!!! Then, Ben was about to reach Pasir Ris Interchange. So missed the chance to fetch him.
We met up later to celebrate his birthday. Finally, he's as old as me. Hehe. =D Didn't have the time to make anything for him. Wanted to make a card and a cake, but thanks to Ray, I had to resort to store bought cake. :@ Luckily I had some time to shop for the cake and think of how I could make the cake more special. Quite satisfied with the final product. =D Sang a birthday song for him and passed him the present after eating the cake. He didn't expect what I gave him. Hehe. =D It's a letter opener which looks like, or practically is, a dagger. It's actually a mimic of the weapon from the movie, Blade. (Yes, Hui Yin, it's the one I bought when we went to exchange the helicopter. =D) Though the celebration was quite screwed up cos I failed to fetch him, make him a cake and card, it was a happy one. At least got to celebrate his birthday together for the first time, after missing the chance to last year.
Some pictures taken:

Decorated the cake with the 3 strawberries, "P <3 G" not "PIG". =D
Finally, 19! Yeah!!! =D
He's making his birthday wish, not praying. Hehe. =D
Shaky shot together with the specially decorated cake. Hehe. =D

Working

Started work on 20th instead of 22nd cos the Property Manager(PM) wanted me to go to one of the sites for training.

20th April, Monday:
Went to the HQ for a meeting which lasted 3hrs. Damn long sia. Didn't doze off though, heng arh. But the meeting was quite useful. Got a better picture of what Condo Management is about. After that, lunched with colleagues at Maxwell Hawker then came back for a briefing by the HR personnel. Then, head down to Spring Grove to observe how they manage the site. Learned for the Admin Assistant (AA), Lina, some responsibilities of an AA. Learnt more about my job scope. But there's nothing much to do and learn there, except the basic stuff, so awhile later, we were beginning to stone. After 2hrs of stoning, I can't tahan anymore so I asked my colleague, the Property Officer (PO), Siti, if she wanted to leave. So, off we went. =D
That condo was located at quite a ulu place. Had to take a 10mins walk to the bus stop. One of the buses stops near Bugis Street so popped by there and bought a Bermudas for my didi and a cardigan for myself. =D Arranged with Hui Ping to meet her after her work. So met her at Marina station. Wanted to get the pair of shoes I saw at AMK Hub's Mondo so Hui Ping accompanied me there. So nice of her. But I'm helping her in some way to... To help her pass her time faster without Wei Jie's company. In that sense, I became his substitute? Hui Ping confirm disagree one, right? Cos in her heart, Wei Jie is not replaceable. Hehe. :p

21st May, Tuesday:
Reported to Spring Grove again cos the PM arranged us to be stationed there for the 2 days. Nothing to do again. Our Condo Manager (CM), Ray, kept briefing us, telling us what we should look out for and sharing with us his experience. He seemed to be a very experience CM and kept giving us advice. Some of which I think I should heed, for the others, I think I should keep to my own method. Met Hui Ping again. She's planning to quit next month to have sufficient time to spend for herself before entering Uni. She's missing his Wei Jie as much as I miss my Ben. But we're going to see our boys these Sunday. =D But mine booking in again the same day. Suey arh, kena guard duty. Haven't seen and talked to him for nearly a week due to the field camp, then now can only see him for one day. Quite suey during the camp too. Curse and swear at the sergeants and officers who kept targeting him just because of that stupid lunch incident. You all are NS men not boys, how can you all childishly push all the blame to him. He's not the one who was being helicoptered back to mainland. Being too helpful and obedient in the camp is a crime. Hui Ping get to spend quite some time with Wei Jie when he book out. Must tell him to advise him to not be too helpful during the field camp and must eat every meals they give. Hope they'll enjoy themselves in the short span of time they could spend with each other. =D

22nd-25th May, Wednesday-Saturday:
Finally reported to our site, Castle Green. Didn't have a good impression of the current Managing Agent(MA) which we're going to take over. The PO and AA was quite cold to us at first. So the CM arranged us to use the Function Room for our discussion. Again, for most of the time, we were slacking in the room and Ray would most of the time start to share his experience and advices. We very much wanted to find something to do but the current MA wasn't ready to handover. Slacked for another 2 days. Very difficult to pass time. Nothing to do at all. Then, Ray kept on talking and talking. The first 2 days was alright. But consecutively for 4 days, it becomes a nag.
Finally, on Friday, we started packing the old files. They were in a big mess. And Ray wants us to keep all the documents. Tons of documents left to be arranged. Headache. Think when actual take over the week after next, Siti won't have much time to take her puffs. But she may have a hard time being Ray's right hand. Haha! =D Warned her not to run away too soon, if not I'll be dead meat. Today, packed the room with Siti and Daniel, our Maintenance Officer (MO). Initially, Ray was packing with Daniel, then he left for the office. Poor Daniel packed the room himself until Siti and I went over to render our help.
Ray may be more experience than us but he should be a role model himself, not by mouth only. He kept talking like he knows a lot and will be a very good CM. But since Friday when we started packing the old files, I slowly came to realise that he talks more than he works. Hope it's not the case when it comes to our actual day of handover. If I could work there for 6 months, I think it can be considered a miracle, though I was planning to stay for 1 year. Keeping my fingers cross. Hope everything will go well at work. =D

My job is related to real estate. Seems quite interesting. In this field, there's the management of industrial and commercial buildings, town councils, schools, condos, etc. The job of the MA is to basically manage the building or estate. It will be responsible for the maintenance, water tanks, painting of building, pest control, etc and facilitation, security, booking of rooms, handle complaints etc. Next time can share these with Maria if she happens to enter real estate. The PM share with us that this line is evergreen cos they're always looking for people. So it's not a bad choice. But still more interested in Business or Math. Hehe. =D

YS' Birthday Celebration =D

Thought Yi Siang would be working so planned earlier to eat somewhere nearer to her workplace. But had a change of plan since she decided to take leave yesterday. Was quite last minute so couldn't think of where to eat. The girls didn't want me to eat desserts only so was searching for vegetarian eating places, but apparently there are no reputable ones in Yishun area. Finally, Ming Yun called and gave an excellent suggestion, to have steamboat at her house. (But I think the ultimate reason was to have mahjong session there, right Ming? Haha! =D) But she got caught up at work so changed to my house instead. (Pai seh to make you rush, Ming, luckily you didn't cab down. =D) Met Ying Yan first to buy the food, while Clar and Yi Siang shopped for her cake at Bakerzin. We spent $20 on the steamboat food, quite cheap and made us quite full. Bet the girls loved my BBQ mushrooms. It's my FAVOURITE! Yummilicious! =D After some chatting sessions, YS was craving for her cake so sang her a birthday song and tucked in on the cake. The cake tasted nice, I love the cream, though it's fattening. After that, resumed to our girls talk again until 12am then home sweet home.
Talked about some BGR matters. Let me share about my thoughts of what the girls and I will say about our current BG relationship status. (Hope you girls don't mind. :P I'd remove this portion if you all mind. =D) It's just my personal view so it's not really accurate.
Girl A: I'm true to you, believe it or not.
Girl B: I shall live with the 3 month curse.
Girl C: When fate comes, I'll not escape.
Girl D: Squabbling is our way of communication.
Girl E: I'm the wealthiest lady in the world.
Really enjoyed the gathering with the girls once again. During the exciting conversations with them, I realised that we have really changed a lot. They have developed characters which make them strong and optimistic, unlike me. Luckily, despite the difference in us, we still remained as very good friends. Though we only meet up occasionally, we treasure this friendship as much as each other do. Even though I had quite a major setback, I feel extremely fortunate to have friends around me who care for me and whom I could care for. When I say "Friends forever", I mean it. =D
Happy birthday to Yi Siang, once again! Hope you like the present and the card, and enjoyed the celebration yesterday! =D

My freedom is coming to an end soon... =D

Good news for me! I've got a job. Admin assistant at CBM Pte Ltd. The company mainly deals with facilities management in commercial and residential buildings. Have yet to understand more about the company and my duties. Very excited about this job cos I'll be stationed at one of their condo sites which is at YCK, one station away only. Haha! I'm so damn lucky! =D
To further elaborate how lucky I am... I was offered a 6 months contract by Recruit Express as a Recruitment Consultant on Monday. I was very happy when I received the call for the interview cos I'd sent out several resume but hadn't gotten any replies for weeks. The interview dragged for quite awhile cos the Manager was quite busy. I passed the interview and was immediately offered the contract. But as I went through the terms in the contract, I felt threatened. The only term that appealed to me was the pay of $6/hr and $8 commission per successful deal. Other terms were like "penalty of $10,000 if you seek employment at a company in the same line within one year after you leave the company" and "compensate one month's pay if you do not commit till the date as stated in the contract". Can conclude from the contract that the company is not concerned about employee's welfare, no OT pay, no medical benefits, no leaves, etc. It's more like a threat than a contract. I asked for 2 days to consider and decided to give up the contract, this morning. Then just a few hours later, CBM called to tell me that I was selected for the admin position. I went for the interview yesterday and the interviewer told me that they were still screening candidates for the position and would call me next week if I'm selected. Half my hopes were gone cos I thought I was inexperience. I really want the job not only because it's very near my place, but the employee's welfare was not bad. Upon confirmation, I'd have 14 days of annual leave, Yearly Bonus, Medical Benefits, etc. Indeed, my wish came true, I got the job. Will commence on 22nd April. So have to tidy up my notes ASAP and start to plan my time table wisely, can't afford to waste another year. Jia you! =D

Belated Birthday Surprise! =D

On Monday, went to party world in the late afternoon with my cousins, brother was caught up with some stuff so can't join us in time. They finished the tidbits so I went to the counter to ask if it's free to refill. Went to the loo too. When I came back, my cousins had gotten ready the cheesecake. They forgotten to bring a lighter so there's a candle, but no flames. The cake was also decorated by Almond Chocolate Biscuit Sticks cos they found out from my younger brother that I love almond. =D They sang me a birthday song as soon as I settled down. Very touched. =D During the K session, we sang many old songs. Had fun! After that, met my elder brother at the foodcourt for dinner. Thanks for the pleasant surprise! =D
