Swensens Ice Cream Buffet =D

Wanted to go for the buffet for quite some time cos it was quite cheap. Usual price was $18.90 per pax but there was a promotion going on, one for one. So only around $11 per person. There quite a widespread of variety available. Not only do they have various ice cream flavours, there's also cakes, brownies, fondue, waffles and mini pancakes. There's also lots of toppings and syrups for the ice creams. Yummy yummy! =D Was quite full after one round of cakes and ice creams but very satisfying. Though it was a rather fattening meal, have no regrets going for it. =D

Ubin & K =D

Pulau Ubin again! =D This time with my brothers and cousin Xiao Jun. Cousin Zhong Xian should have joined us but he overslept! So we decided to leave without him and meet him later. Was really worried that the weather would turn bad but it was fantastic! =D Rented our bikes for $8 each. The vendors there hiked up the price cos it was a Sunday and next day is a PH, so there was really damn lots of people there. We reached there around 1am plus and headed to Chek Jawa. Second time going there and no luck again. The tide was very high. Saw nothing much except for mud skippers and mini crabs.
On top of the Viewing Tower
One part of the bridge was dented. Some were afraid to cross
while other inconsiderate ones actually happily jump
and stand on that portion to soak their feet.

After that, we explored the island. Without any guide and being a smart aleck, we based on our instincts to decide which route to take. And almost every time, we were wrong and rode to a dead end. Was very sian when we kept bumping into dead ends but it was really fun. There were numerous up and down slopes and I would always be the one lagging behind when we were going upslope, cos I would end up push up the bike instead! Old and fat le, no stamina. Haha! =D Though I kept complaining, the ride was very enjoyable. When we finally reached back to the jetty, we noticed that the restaurants there were really packed. Looks like Pulau Ubin is still an attractive place to people. Being under the Sun for more than 3hrs, we straightaway head to the hawker at Changi Village when we reached mainland for some ice. Cooling! =D
I was lagging behind most of the time so I was able to get this shot. =D
On the boat.
Gor gor was sleeping so we camwhored ourselves. =D

After some discussion, we decided to go back home to wash up first before head down to Upp Thomson for dinner and K. This time Zhong Xian joined us. Xiao Jun managed to locate a vegetarian stall for me at Upp Thomson. It is a zi char stall and their business seems to be quite good. I tried their hor fun and fried carrot cake. Definitely will go back there again! Yumilicious! =D Anyway, we were going to be late for the K session so we da bao our food there. The boss was kind enough to allow us to bring our food in. There, we celebrated Zhong Xian's birthday in advance. It was a surprise for him. Had a very enjoyable singing session till 11pm. Cost $16.50 per person, so much cheaper than Kbox and Partyworld, almost half the price. Thanks to Ming Yun for her recommendation. Ya, we happened to get the same room as the last time Ming Yun brought Yi Siang and I there. =D

Social Night =D

Went for Echo Wing's social night with Ben. It should be a night to mingle with everyone there but Ben and I didn't really like this kind of event. He did introduce me to some of his mates but most of the time, we were in our own world. Fortunate/Unfortunate-ly, there were others who were like us, so we weren't the odd one out. Haha! =D Anyway, I really pity those dates who were left behind by the guys to entertain/bore themselves. Ben mentioned that he was lucky to have known me if not, his date would have been like them. In order words, he feels fortunate to be with me. Haha! =D

To be frank, the only program we were looking forward to is the meal. However, Ben was unhappy with the buffet style food and was extremely disappointed with the vegetarian meal box I had. So, from the start of the meal onwards, he had been grumbling and I had to coax him until the end. In fact, the event was quite boring if not for the potato chips and the finger food. Anyway, I still enjoy the night with Ben. <3>

Meet up with girl friends =D

It's our once a month meet up again. Met my 4 girl friends at Buddy Hoagies and I was late again. Pai seh. :p As usual, our chit-chatting topic will always include relationship. There's quite major changes in two of their relationship status. Very surprising. But they seem to be very happy with the changes. Hope that they will enjoy their 'new' life and that all of us will be happy with what we have now. Friends Forever! =D

On my way to Buddy Hoagies, I bumped into Hui Ping. It has been quite some time since we met. She was on her way to meet Wei Jie. He was having nights out and, most important point, his camp is so near!!! So jealous! How I wish Ben will be posted to artillery too. I wish... I wish...

A Long Yet Short Weekend...

Spent the long weekend with Ben. =D
At Mount Faber
Saturday, we went to explore Mount Faber and watched G.I.Joe. The climb up to the Mount Faber was not too difficult but was quite tiring to me after not exercising for so long. The view up there was not very spectacular, but was quite beautiful. Sentosa looked small up there. After that, we went to VivoCity and had Merlionster at Ben & Jerry's. Guess the price... $32.90!!! Damn ex la. And seriously, other than the various chunks found in the ice cream, the ice cream itself was not very splendid. The taste and texture of Gelare and Swensens ice cream are much better. I guess that will the the first and last time patronising Ben & Jerry's together. Anyway, after that, Ben went home to 'show face' for awhile then we meet for G.I.Joe at Yishun GV. I would say that the show is worth watching for the fighting scenes and the special effects, I like it. Thought I would fall asleep during the movie as I was really tired after so much walking that day, but I was wide awake throughout the show. That proves that the movie was quite engaging.

Sunday was National Day. We were supposed to join in the service for the National Anthem and Pledge but... We were late! Late by more than half an hour, but luckily we weren't the only ones. But we ended up sitting in front. I don't like sitting in front cos I'm afraid to be noticed. Cos I think I'm the only one who don't join in the singing, raise my hands for prayers and say 'Amen' when we're prompted to. All in all, I'm the only non-Christian there. That day, the pastor talked about Overcomers. As usual, I didn't really understand what she was preaching. But I guess it's something to do with seeking peace after failures or setbacks so as to pick oneself up again... Something like that ba. Anyway, hope this week's service I won't be going alone. After service, we shopped at Yishun's NTUC for some tidbits for the movie then went for lunch at Northpoint's Food Mall. Went back home to rest awhile before the movie, Where Got Ghost. But we were extremely late, missed one third of the movie, didn't catch the first story. The movie wasn't scary at all to me. It's very comical though. Very Jack Neo style. Lots of dialects and the way they speak and act just made me laugh throughout the movie. It's worth watching for those who likes comedy but not for those who expects the movie to be scary. We wanted to go to Safra's gym after that but it was closed. Didn't know it closes so early. Ben was very disappointed. We went back to my house and Ben cooked potatoes for me again. I love the potatoes he makes even though it's damn fattening. Haha! =D While eating, we watched the Singapore Idol audition. We were wondering why those people who sings so badly and yet so proud of themselves dare to participate, we felt embarrassed for them. But there were some who could sing quite well. I won't be following the show throughout though, not an Idol fan.

Woke up at 11.30am on Monday. Was very tired after spending two long days out. But I really enjoyed myself very much and feel that we a fruitful time for the two days, although we didn't seem to have done a lot of things. Looking forward to spending more quality time together. Sent Ben to Boon Lay for his book in. Hope he would be able to have a longer book out time this weekend. =D

3D UP with Ming Yun =D

Went to watch the animated movie UP in 3D. The movie wasn't very fantastic but alright la. Have some comical scenes here and there. But not really worth to watch in 3D, cos no special price leh. Anyway, here's a shot we took.

Daily Bread

Another posts on Daily Bread which I like:

2nd August, Best Friends
(http://www.rbc.org/devotionals/our-daily-bread/2009/08/02/devotion.aspx)
"Friends listen to our heartaches without blaming us for having problems.
They defend us when we’re under attack.
They are happy when we succeed and sad when we fail.
They give us wise counsel to keep us from making foolish choices.
They even risk making us angry for the sake of making us right.
My friends have done all of this and more for me.
...
True friends are like diamonds—precious and rare."
